This project focused on the design and structural optimization of a lightweight, eco-friendly chair tailored for visually impaired children. Constructed from laser-cut cardboard, the chair emphasized simplicity, accessibility, and safety. Multiple prototype iterations were developed and tested using a universal testing machine to evaluate stress distribution and inform scaling decisions.
I created the initial CAD designs, prepared DXF files for laser cutting, and assembled each prototype using adhesive bonding. I refined the geometry over several iterations and conducted structural testing to identify the most robust version for scaling. The project emphasized ergonomic design, rapid prototyping, and mechanical performance evaluation.
